Flyway Series Archives

The GUNNER Flyway Series honors waterfowl hunting heritage by drawing inspiration from iconic destinations along North America’s major migration routes. Each limited-edition collection reflects the geography, culture, and traditions of regions across the continent.

What Is The GUNNER Flyway Series?

Every year, GUNNER releases a Flyway Series collection featuring limited-edition colors in the G1™ Kennel, Food Crate, and Dog Bowls. Each release draws inspiration from iconic destinations and honey holes within the North American flyways. Each of the four flyways —Atlantic, Mississippi, Central, and Pacific— are major migration routes for waterfowl. To further support conservation, a portion of proceeds from each collection are donated to the local Ducks Unlimited chapter near the location.

Since 2020, we've paid homage to six storied locations with deep waterfowl hunting roots. Check out each of these limited-edition collections below, and text GUNNER to 82241 to sign up for our SMS list and be the first to know when a knew collection lands.

bayou meto

Mississippi Flyway | 2020 Collection

For our first edition in the Flyway Series™, GUNNER launched the Bayou Meto dog kennel, which pays homage to Arkansas’ green-timber duck hunting mecca and its bottomland topography, an area where GUNNER Founder, Addison Edmonds, grew up hunting. The green dog crate is inspired by the region’s legendary green tree reservoirs and the blacked-out G1™ door is reminiscent of that dark water Addison waded through all those early mornings.

los banos

Pacific Flyway | 2021 Collection

The 2021 limited-edition Flyway Series collection is inspired by Los Banos and California’s vast grasslands – and specifically, the Cinnamon Teal that can be found year-round in the historic San Joaquin River basin of the Central Valley.

The body of the kennel honors the unique, vibrant plumage that is the namesake of the Cinnamon Teal, while the blacked-out door gives a nod to the bird’s signature black bill.

anahuac

Central Flyway | 2022 Collection

Nestled in the coastal marshland of the Central Flyway lies Anahuac, a long-revered hunting hole. Known as the “Land on the Edge of the Water,” Anahuac’s near-impassable wetlands and thick fog blankets provide an area that has a rich history and no shortage of stories.

The blue body of the kennel is inspired by the ever-remote Texas coastal wetlands' inner marshes that cast a deep captivating blue, as well as the blue-winged teal that funnel through this narrow corridor of habitat in such large numbers that they merit a special warm-weather season.

susquehanna

Atlantic Flyway | 2023 Collection

Nestled along the eastern coast of the United States, the Susquehanna region boasts a rich history of waterfowl hunting. With techniques like body booting and bushwhacking, the region is a haven for avid waterfowlers.

The rich chocolate color is inspired by the flats, the shallow area of underwater grasses where the Susquehanna River meets the Chesapeake Bay. The hue also reflects to the Canvasbacks that flock to the region, and gives nod to the iconic Chesapeake Bay Retriever's brown coat – whose color is as close to that of its working surroundings as possible.

saskatoon

Central Flyway | 2024 Collection

It’s a bucket list destination for many hunters – Saskatoon is dubbed the “Land of Living Skies” for several reasons: in part for the way the light breaks over the prairies, and another for when the silence is shattered by a cacophony of honks and wingbeats.

If you’ve never experienced it, words don’t serve the feeling justice: watching thousands of snow geese take to the air, creating what's known as a "white-out" – it’s a phenomenon that inspired our limited-edition collection. GUNNER founder Addison Edmonds even took his dog Gunner–our company's namesake– on a bucketlist hunt in Saskatoon before returning with his young pup Chevy several years later.

reelfoot

Mississippi Flyway | 2024 Collection

The Reelfoot Flyway Series collection is a nod to the flooded forest where duck calls echo through the trees and generations of waterfowlers wait in timber-lined blinds for the morning flight. At the heart of this landscape are the cypress trees: ancient, knobby-kneed giants that rise from the water like sentinels.

Reelfoot Green is reflected in the moss covering the cypress trees, in the dense vegetation, and throughout the flooded forest. We designed it not to stand out, but to belong.

Rethink The Way Your Dog Travels

100,000 Dogs Protected

Our mission is to build the world's best products for Man's Best Friend. We take safety seriously and are proud that 75,000 dogs and counting are protected by GUNNER.

18,000+ Wrecks per Day

There are 6 million wrecks a year in the US. Accidents + an increase in the risk-taking driving behaviors have increased among drivers in 2021. (Source: NHTSA 2020 Report; NPR 2021 Report)

2,700 Pounds of Projectile

In a vehicle accident at 35 mph, an unrestrained 60 lb. dog can become 2,700 lb. of projectile. Our crate ensures your dog is contained (and safe) before, during & after impact. (Source: Bark Buckle UP)

85% Failure Rate

Nearly 9 out of 10 products FAILED the safety certification when originally crash tested (2015 study) by CPS. Our Intermediate was the only product in the crate category that passed in that '15 study. (Source: Center For Pet Safety)

MY DOG IS NOT AN EGG.

Your dog is not an egg. But this egg test represents how they are protected in a GUNNER Kennel, versus traveling unrestrained in a vehicle.

The safest way for your pet to travel is in a GUNNER, and proper fit is a key part of safety in the event of an accident. Don’t let your dog become the scrambled egg.
