Your dog is not an egg. But this egg test represents how they are protected in a GUNNER Kennel, versus traveling unrestrained in a vehicle.
The safest way for your pet to travel is in a GUNNER, and proper fit is a key part of safety in the event of an accident. Don’t let your dog become the scrambled egg.
Every size of the GUNNER kennel has saved real dogs in real wrecks. It is the original 5 Star Crash Tested crate per the Center for Pet Safety.
The receipts are there. Hear from dozens of real customers who say GUNNER kennels saved their dogs' lives.

When a vehicle is traveling at highway speeds, so are all the objects within it. In a sudden stop or accident, the vehicle slows rapidly – but your dog continues moving at the same velocity until other forces act to reduce its speed.
Think about the effectiveness of seatbelts and airbags. In much the same way a proper fit in a GUNNER both helps slow down your dog before the stop, and also cushions them during it.
“To see her car completely destroyed and the GUNNER with nothing more than a couple of scratches on them is a feeling that is unexplainable. Thank you for making the safest kennel on earth. You saved the lives of her family.”
“Double-wall construction essentially
means double the impact protection (if not more) for the animal, as the
exterior layer would absorb the majority of an initial impact, with the
interior wall providing another layer of protection.” – Dr. Alvin Spence
84% of U.S. drivers bring their dogs with them but do not use a restraint. With 90 million dogs, that's 75 million at risk.

85% of products FAILED the safety certification when originally crash tested (2015 study) by CPS. GUNNER was the ONLY crate that passed in that '15 study.

There are 6 million wrecks a year in the US. Accidents + an increase in the risk-taking driving behaviors have increased among drivers in 2021.

Due to its patented features and durable construction, each size of the GUNNER has been tested and proven to save real dogs in real accidents.
In a vehicle accident at 35 mph, an unrestrained 60 lb. dog can become 2,700 lb. of projectile.

You will need a soft measuring tape, your dog, and 2 minutes to find your perfect fit.
Tip: If you don't have a soft measuring tape, use a piece of string or a leash then compare.
Measure from base of tail to end of nose, keeping the tape along the spine.

GUNNER is the original 5 Star Crash Tested kennel, per the Center For Pet Safety. We created this crate specifically for transportation and that factors into our fit recommendations. In the best interest of your dog, we advise a snug fit for safe travel. If choosing the GUNNER crate for home kenneling, simply slide the toggle above to the right to see the best size.
When primarily used for travel, we always recommend a tight fit in the GUNNER kennel. This protects the dog in the case of an accident: the less wasted interior space the better. Think about it like this – if you’re hitting the brakes too hard, or get into a wreck, you’d rather that your dog have less room to move around inside the kennel. Many customers have also found that their dog feels more secure when traveling in a tighter area too.

Check out the below visual. When the door is closed, the proper fit for safe travel could mean that your dog:
• Is curled
• Paws are tucked
• Rump/tail is resting against the back
