Magnus the Elkhound has a genius for destruction of dog beds. L.L. Bean, high end Orvis ‘Tough as nails’, and any number of Petco and Petsmart beds have literally had the stuffing taken out of them, and have sadly gone off to the landfill. So far, which includes many long distance trips, there has been no damage to the Gunner. Don’t want to say much else, because the little beggar is watching me write this, and he may take this endorsement as a dare….
Can be chewed up if t offered to the wrong dog. But otherwise spectacular. 3/4 dogs on them LOVE them. The other chews and destroys them. As well as performance pads too. And ANYTHING else in her kennel. It’s her not the pad. I highly recommend
over all not a bad dog bed, fit is good for the kennel, could be a little thicker, time will tell how it holds up
It was a great experience. That’s what I understood from my dog
Thanks for making a bed to fit the contours of the Large Gunner. I wish that the bed were slightly larger so that when my dog is on it that the bed still covered the entire floor of the kennel. Very easy for treats and chewies to fall around the edges. Though, I suppose it also means the dirt can fall to the bottom of the crate as well. Regardless, I just wish the bed was "oversized" until the dog gets on it and then the bed fit all the way to the edges of the crate. Otherwise, it is really well made!

You will need a soft measuring tape, your dog, and 2 minutes to find your perfect fit.
Tip: If you don't have a soft measuring tape, use a piece of string or a leash then compare.
Measure from base of tail to end of nose, keeping the tape along the spine.

GUNNER is the original 5 Star Crash Tested kennel, per the Center For Pet Safety. We created this crate specifically for transportation and that factors into our fit recommendations. In the best interest of your dog, we advise a snug fit for safe travel. If choosing the GUNNER crate for home kenneling, simply slide the toggle above to the right to see the best size.
When primarily used for travel, we always recommend a tight fit in the GUNNER kennel. This protects the dog in the case of an accident: the less wasted interior space the better. Think about it like this – if you’re hitting the brakes too hard, or get into a wreck, you’d rather that your dog have less room to move around inside the kennel. Many customers have also found that their dog feels more secure when traveling in a tighter area too.

Check out the below visual. When the door is closed, the proper fit for safe travel could mean that your dog:
• Is curled
• Paws are tucked
• Rump/tail is resting against the back
