Dog days of summer🔥
On Sunday we made the drive down to the Bucks-Montgomery Coon Club for their ukcdogs Bench Show and Field Trial. Had a great time, and the dogs did good. Lina got both line and tree in the champion’s heat of the field trial. And ole Blitz was awarded best of class and best of breed, earning him more points towards his show champion title.
This club is one of the oldest sportsmen clubs in Pennsylvania. I enjoyed looking at all the old photos hanging on the clubhouse walls. Lots of history!

Was recently asked what I take for the dogs when I’m going hunting. So here’s what I trust. 1. gunnerkennels to keep my dogs safe on the trip.
2. joydogfood to keep them feed and to get them full of energy 3. yeti dry box to keep all the dog meds, bandages, etc just incase of an accident!
“This year I spent some time in the hospital, and for about a month post-surgery, I was wheelchair bound, was healing and recovering, and then got an infection that nearly killed me and ended up back in the hospital. Tyr is with me 24/7, and he was there to aid me every step of the way with this too – nudging my hands, getting items off the ground, and providing a sense of comfort and stability.
A month after the second surgery, I was out in Arizona elk hunting and Tyr, as always, went with me. It was the hardest hunt I’ve ever been on, both mentally and physically.
My doctors technically gave me the go-ahead, but I was still healing. There’s definitely some rough terrain out there in the mountains; the first week we went about 40 miles on foot, and by night three I was in so much physical pain I wasn’t able to climb into the rooftop tent on my truck to sleep at night. I ended up sleeping in the cab of the truck with Tyr, and there wasn’t a single moment he didn’t make sure I was okay. He spent the whole trip leading in front of me, bracing me, and pulling me up onto things. He’s truly a lifesaver in multiple facets.
I didn’t get an elk this year, but that hunt was still a success in my mind because I was able to overcome and accomplish things I never thought I’d be capable of post-surgery. But no matter what the situation was out there, Tyr was still smiling with his tail wagging, ready to go again.
After spending seven years in the Marine Corps, I have a strong mental game; I’m at the point in my life where mentally it’s hard to beat me. A large part of overcoming mental barriers is who you surround yourself with– having Tyr right next to me is a major contributor in my ability to keep moving forward.

An adventure in the high country with new friends, good dogs and one memorable dusky grouse sandwich.
Took this little lady out for a her day. Went to her favourite place for an off-leash hike, followed by a public obedience session and ended our day with a special treat. She didn’t miss a beat, I was ready to refine anything that needed work as its been a while. But she was neutral, healed perfectly even when other dogs were reacting and lunging at her, down stay on point and emergency downed when needed. What a fun day 👌🏼🐾

Very cool search today! A buddy left early to the woods and he dropped me a pin to find his truck and then we began the hunt! I wanted to hunt a human that knew an area I did not! What do I do first… Look for clues and get to high ground! Before the dog is out I got in a tree stand and looked around! Spotted him soon after but needed the dog to make the find! So then we tracked until I got Mana in a position to wind him…. Well after that, it was on 😂 He took off running but before He could hid again we had caught him! It was a new way of tracking for Mana because he had no scent article nor did he even know who to track! What I loved was when the wind hit him the right way the long walk in the field turned into controlled chaos !!!! A mile later we got him! Nice work Mana Thank you arsenalcanineacademy for helping with the game plan last night to get this kinda search in his resume 🙏🐕
