A Goose Spread
Born and raised in Minnesota, Zach has long had a passion for waterfowl hunting and fishing, and has been fortunate enough to follow the migration starting in Canada and following them south.
I first met Addison a few years ago on a hunt in Kansas and that is when I first saw the kennel. I have broken many kennels over the years and this is the only one that is durable enough to hand all the environments and situations I put them through. I got my first Gunner in 2016 and have been impressed with the quality and construction.
I have a lot of mentors in my life, but I would say the most influencial hero and mentor for me is my dad. He introduced me to hunting, fishing and sports. He always made family a priority and that is something that I try to replicate now that I have my own family.
I currently run black labs. I got my first in college, she is now 14 years old and retired. I also have a 3-year-old lab named Sully. I grew up with Springer Spaniels, with more of an upland focus.
I enjoy waterfowl hunting the most, and am not partial to ducks or geese – both do it for me. My favorite spot right now to hunt is up in Canada, but also enjoy some west metro spots that are close to home.
Any time they make their first retrieve.
I enjoy watching a good dog as much as I enjoy the hunt. Watching their progress from the early years all the way through to the old veteran dog. They all have their own styles and personalities and the satisfaction that comes when it finally clicks for the dog and they understand what they are doing.
15 hours, and we do it every year.
